
Food allergies?
I’ve been going to the hospital for around 7 months to try + work out whats wrong with my stomach. I haven’t really had many tests, just a bowel scope + many tablets to try + solidify my stools.
They’re still confused and say stomach/rib/chest pain that isn’t relieved by passing a stool/wind, isn’t to do with my bowel/stomach problem.. I don’t believe this is true as my Mother + Grandad suffered/suffer with the same pain + they both have Celiacs disease. I have been tested for this.
I used to be lactose introlerant + didn’t start having dairy products until the age of 10.
Yesterday I managed to slim down what I thought my bad allergy could be.. Either wheat (not wheat AND gluten, hence the negative result to the Celiac test) or dairy again.. I had a piece of chocolate cake + was SO poorly.. Does it sound right for me to going with wheat + dairy?
I’m having a big dairy breakfast, followed by a wheat packed lunch to see what I get a reaction from best. Is this a good idea?
Gluten is the starch of wheat so any flour in cakes is going to have it in it. Hence the reason why you felt so bad after the chocolate cake.
You might have not eaten wheat for a while before you got tested, and that will show a negative result. You need to eat wheat for at least two weeks before a test to show the anti-bodies to the gluten in your system.
You will always be lactose intolerant, not ‘used to be’. Perhaps you meant you haven’t had any dairy lately to have any symptoms.
You will know your self what your symptoms are after having the dairy/wheat packed breakfast, and you will then know what the answer is to your question!
I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant and many a time I think, Oh bugger it! I eat a pizza or have cheese on toast and man! do I suffer…grrrrrrr…I LOVE dairy, I love fresh bread…but sadly my body doesn’t.
